Christmas Decorating!

We started the process of decorating the house for Christmas. We had very good helpers this year, although, the majority of the ornaments for the tree are no higher than four feet! I think that we only broke two or three in the process. We had to go back and move a few higher on the tree. The only injury occurred the following day when Hudson pulled down one of the stocking hangers on to his head. It caused a nice gash in his scalp that required some TLC and steri-strips. Luckily, it is closing well....Hopefully, we have learned a good lesson, although, it was the hard way! We aren't quite finished putting everything up, but at least we have made a good start!

Thanksgiving at Station #7

John worked on Thanksgiving day so the kids and I headed to the fire station for a wonderful Thanksgiving meal. It is always so nice to visit and see our "second family!" The kids loved it and for the very first time, Reagan got in the fire engine and let us take a picture of her. She has always been a little scared of the possibility of the sirens going off. Hudson, on the other hand, decided not to get into the engine for the first time ever....so, no pictures of Hudson this time. When I asked the kids what they were thankful for, I got a variety of answers, including, God and family, friends, and Hudson was especially thankful for Batman, Robin and Batgirl!! What a wonderful blessing it is to have a great family and wonderful friends!

Bulldog Cheer Party!

Reagan had her final cheer activity this past weekend. All the girls on her team were invited to a fun cheer party at ASI Gymnastics! If you can't tell, the girls had a blast, ate pizza, cupcakes, cookies, and enjoyed being around one another. Reagan made some great friends and enjoyed her time with cheer!

Hangin' Out

The best part of being at home is playing outside! Unfortunately, since the time change, we usually don't make it home before its dark. That hasn't stopped us from still playing outside, we just can't do it as much as before. The kids love playing outside, and making up games along the way. This time, it was sliding down on their tummies, into the dark green pool, aka grass!

Cheer Competition!

We participated in our cheer competition this past Saturday. The girls did great, although it was a little chilly to begin with. The wind was blowing with gusts up to 40 mph and we were in the shade, so we were a bit cold. They got to come out on the field, perform their cheer/dance combo, and then sit until everyone else had finished! They had a mix of Michael Jackson songs to dance to, and they have been practicing like crazy. They included props of a glittery hat and gold glove to make their outfit complete! Although they didn't place, they were still very excited to get a medal and a rose at the end of the competition. Reagan has loved cheer, and is still dancing today! It has been a good experience for her, and she is very willing to perform for anyone interested!

Future Texas Ranger!

We have enjoyed watching the Texas Rangers make it to the World Series again this year. Unfortunately, the outcome wasn't quite the one we were hoping for, but we enjoyed watching and cheering them on. Hudson has enjoyed it as well, and wants to wear his Rangers ball cap all the time! He grabbed his glove too, and was ready for the field!

Batman and Batgirl - Halloween 2011!

Reagan and Hudson chose their costumes this year for Halloween. They have been watching the old 1960s Batman TV show and absolutely love it! They love watching the words on the screen when Batman, Robin and Batgirl battle Penguin, the Riddler or other criminals. "Zap, Kapow, Biff, Crash..." Batman and Batgirl made their way around our neighborhood making sure that no crime fighting was needed, and instead went trick-or-treating! Nan and Da came along too! They came home with lots of candy, and are still enjoying it! They didn't keep their masks on for very long, but loved going to all the spooky houses for candy! They are already talking about costumes and trick-or-treating next year!
