Christmas Decorating

Last week, we got all the Christmas decorations out and started putting them up. The kids had a lot of fun this year, although I think Hudson enjoyed the ladder more than anything else. He had a great time going up and down...up and down...up and down! Reagan really enjoyed placing the ornaments on the tree. Unfortunately, we lost a few because they were dropped, but no one got hurt! The tree is a bit interesting....there are several clumps of ornaments together, but that is what makes the decorating process so special. The kids just amaze me at how excited they are about the Christmas season. We all just have to remember the true reason for the season!

Rapunzel Day...

Reagan got a very special Saturday after Thanksgiving...she got to go see the new Disney move "Tangled" in the theater. She was soooo excited and wanted it to be just the "girls" so Nan and I took her. All we have heard about for the last several weeks is "Rapunzel." She really enjoyed the popcorn and candy but did take about a five minute nap in the middle of the move when she became too still. She quickly awoke to enjoy the rest of the movie! Now she is asking Santa for a Rapunzel doll and nightgown....we'll see if he is able to get it for her!

Happy Early Christmas!

Uncle Barry and Aunt Sheilena brought the kids some early Christmas presents since they are leaving for England. They will be stationed there for the next several years. Hopefully, we will get to go visit them soon! The kids loved the presents and have had a good time playing with them. Thanks Uncle Barry and Aunt Sheilena!

Do those fingers taste good?

If you haven't noticed, Hudson really likes his right index finger. It is an automatic reaction when he has his "nite-nites" (all three) to immediately place the right index finger in his mouth. He doesn't tend to suck on it unless the nite-nites are around, he is extremely tired, or if he is trying to soothe himself. Reagan, of course, was acting like Hudson the other day and we happened to get a few pictures. She has never sucked any of her fingers, but has to have her nite-nite too!

I love playing on the computer!

Hudson loves electronics....I guess that is the way of the world these days. He and Reagan both can play games on our phones and try to work the computer already. I just can't imagine what technology will be like when they get to college!

Ready for Dance!

John's brother, Barry, was in overnight last week before Thanksgiving. Reagan was extremely excited about this, because that morning, she had dance at school. On Fridays, Reagan gets to wear her dance outfit to school since they have dance in the morning. I think its easier for the parents to get on the tights and leotards than have them change at school...Uncle Barry got to see Reagan wearing her pink (of course) leotard and tights. We can't wait to see Reagan's first dance demonstration....

Playdate with Daddy!

Part of what made this holiday special for the kids was being able to stay home all week. With the help of Nan and Da, the kids were out of school/daycare for the entire week! Of course it will be nice to be back in routine...but, the kids had a blast just being at home. On Monday, while I was at work, John took the kids to a nearby park and as you can see, they had a great time! If you can't tell...the kids love to swing...tire, big swing, little swing...it doesn't seem to matter.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

We hosted Thanksgiving out our house this year and with a lot of help, we had wonderful food and a great time! We were blessed to have family here this year including Nan and Da, as well as great Aunt Judy and her family. Uncle Barry and Aunt Sheilena also made it this year! It was a fun filled day for the kids and everyone involved! There was lots of good food and full bellies to watch the football games on television! Prior to our Thanksgiving feast, Hudson fell asleep among all the people in the living room...He just couldn't keep his eyes open! We are so thankful for all of our blessings and enjoyed all of the time that was spent with our family during the holiday!

Reagan Loves Manicures and Pedicures....

I got to pick Reagan up a little early last Friday and we headed to get pedicures. Of course, that turned into Reagan getting a Pedicure, Manicure and flowers on her hands and fingers with blue fingernail polish.....What is going to happen when she is a teenager? Needless to say, she loved every minute of it and we got to have some great Mommy and Reagan time.

Fossil Rim - Giraffes, Reindeer, Zebras...Oh My!

Last weekend, we went to Glen Rose, TX where they are known for interesting dinosaur fossils but also have a great wildlife conservation area called "Fossil Rim." We were invited to go with some friends of ours, Bryan, Amber, Braden and Blake. Fossil Rim is a really great place that allows you to ride along a path through the conservation area and feed the animals that are there. The animals included deer, reindeer, ostrich, emu, and several other variety of wildlife that I can't even name! We were worried that Hudson might be a little scared of the animals, but he was the first to hang out the window trying to feed them! We also learned that giraffes make a lot of slobber!! We had a great time and can't wait to go back!
