Christmas Day!

Christmas Day was a wonderful morning filled with great surprises from Santa and from family! Everyone had a great time and we were all treated very well from one another! It was great having Paul, Lydia, their kids, as well as Barry and Sheilena with us on Christmas morning! We all had a great time opening presents followed by food and more food! What a wonderful day!

Christmas Cookies!!

Every year, Christmas Cookies are a part of the kid's holidays! This year, Nan and Da helped them make the best Christmas cookies ever! I am sure that by the end of the day, there was flour, sugar, and plenty of cookie dough everywhere! Of course, the kids are already pledging their allegiance to their university. Hudson was making Longhorn cookies, and Reagan was making Aggie cookies! The best part of Christmas cookies is leaving them out with reindeer food for Santa and the reindeer on Christmas Eve!

Slides!

The best part about the Gaylord this past weekend were the slides! The kids got to have fun on the slides in the ICE exhibit, and we all got to have fun at Kung Fu Panda's Snow tubing! We all had a blast sliding and tubing!

Gaylord Texan!

We took a trip to Grapevine this year to visit the Gaylord Texan Resort. They have a Lone Star Christmas Celebration that includes great decorations, ICE exhibit, and this year included Kung Fu Panda Snow Tubing! The ICE exhibit is absolutely amazing! A company from Northern China comes in to create a full Ice Exhibit. This year the theme was "The Nutcracker" but they also had some New York City Ice exhibits, as well as a beautiful Nativity Scene. The exhibit stays at 9 degrees, so hats, gloves, and parkas are required!

Santa Letters!

A neighbor down the street from our house has a "Santa Mailbox." As long as Santa gets his letters before Christmas Eve, he will respond to the letters, to let you know that he did receive them. This past weekend, the kids got out pencil and paper and wrote their letters to Santa! We addressed them and placed them in the Santa Mailbox, and are awaiting a response from Santa!

Santa is at School!

Santa made an appearance at Reagan's school this year for a PTA fundraiser, so the kids got to go up and see him! Reagan, Hudson, and some of Reagan's friends all got to sit on Santa's lap and ask for gifts for Christmas! It is amazing to me that Christmas is already here! We will see if Santa is able to get the gifts that the kids have asked for!

Hudson's Christmas Program!

Hudson had his annual Christmas Program about two weeks ago at his school. It is amazing how these four year-olds can sing!! They did a great job, and sang their hearts out!

Ice Storm!

We had an ice storm in North Texas about a week ago which meant a day off of school, and hanging out at the house! Luckily, we never lost power and the ice wasn't too bad! We enjoyed each other's company (for the most part!) and watched movies, drank hot chocolate and played inside. The kids had several PJ days in a row, but did enjoy running into the backyard to get icicles!

Our Angelic Dogs!

In our Christmas decorations, Reagan found a dog costume that included a halo. Both Trooper and Shep have now been angels on numerous occasions!

Christmas Lists!

We got out paper and pencils and had the kids start making their Christmas lists! This is the first year that Hudson has been able to write his own list out, and he was super proud of himself! We still need to write our letters to Santa....Hopefully, we can get that done this week so that they make it to the North Pole on time!

Decorating for Christmas!

We pulled out the Christmas decorations over the weekend, and began decorating the house. The kids love helping with the decorations and did a great job! Hudson wanted to be on the step ladder constantly to put ornaments up high on the tree, and Reagan would help him by handing him the ornaments! They both got to hang their stockings, although Hudson isn't quite tall enough to do it on his own. Reagan was certainly glad to help, though! Now, we just have to finish shopping and putting gifts under the tree!
