What we can't get over in our household is how both the kids basically entertain us now. I have to say that life was just not as interesting before we had kids. You never quite know what to expect, and even if you think you know what to expect, something will always surprise you. I have no idea what Reagan was thinking, but as you will notice in the video, Hudson loved it. She had been asking for a drum and since we have not gotten her one, I guess she decided to make one on her own (aka Hudson). Fortunately, Hudson was a good sport and enjoyed it as much as she did. Enjoy the Reagan/Hudson drumming experience!

Books, Books Books!
We have been blessed that both of our kids love books. Reagan has always enjoyed them and now even Hudson likes them. I think that if I would let him sleep with his two favorite books, he would! I was finishing up some things around the house before taking the kids to bed the other night and found both of them in Daddy's chair. Reagan was "reading" Hudson's favorite books to him. It was great!
I never knew a cardboard box could be this fun!
After a long day at work, the kids still like to be entertained. We have tried to get them to the point that they can entertain themselves and play on their own, but this doesn't always happen. At one point last week, we had gotten a shipment in the mail and a nice big cardboard box. I let the kids get the markers out and have at it! This worked out better than many of the toys we have spent money on in the past! Reagan says she plans on giving it to one of her teachers in the next few weeks, so the box is still stuck in the garage for now, but at least they had fun!

Hot Summertime!
For those of you who do not live in the Dallas area, we have had nearly record heat with something like 18 or more days in a row of 100 degree heat. Needless to say, everyone is trying to find ways to cool off. The kids wanted to go swimming so we decided to pull out the small pool for the back porch. As usual, they enjoyed it and did not want to get out. Hudson didn't even want to wait for his swim diaper not to mention his actual swim suit! Reagan, as usual, kept trying to pose for the camera. That same night while giving the kids a bath, John and I were asking Reagan what sports she was going to play..if she was going to play volleyball, soccer or basketball. She looked at us and said, "No, I'm not going to play any sports. I'm just going to be a cheerleader and play with my pom-poms and say 'Yea' for all the boys that score." Wow...John and I were left speechless! What is she going to say as a teenager?!!!
Just Chillin'
Hudson can now climb into several of the chairs around the house. He seems to be a bit accident prone, so hopefully this will not end in disaster! He has also found a love of Sesame Street and Elmo! He has the TV bug and points to it and says "Elmo" over and over again. Most people would not be able to determine that this is actually what he is saying, but it is! He gets quite upset if we put something other than Sesame Street on for him! He is growing way too fast and as you can tell, he already enjoys eating and watching TV!

Singin' and Dancin' in the Water Hose Rain!
Reagan has been asking for an umbrella for some time now. I finally relented and although it is already broken, she has had fun with it. She wants to be able to go out in the rain and use it...Unfortunately, we haven't gotten much rain lately so we decided to make our own! She and Hudson got to stand under the water hose rain and enjoyed every second! She then told me that she had to dance with the umbrella too. I'm not sure where she learned this from, but thought it was cute nonetheless. Enjoy the dancing!
Reagan loves Amos!
Reagan actually was able to catch Amos for a change! She absolutely loves the cat, but Amos has gotten extremely good at hiding from both the kids! I wonder why....Since she was able to catch and hold him, it has become a nightly routine that she tries to catch him. Of course, Hudson is right behind her too! Poor cat....I'm sure he will survive! At least for the time being, he is quicker than the kids!

Happy Birthday Kennedy!
After our restful night at the hotel, we got up on Saturday to go to Kennedy's 4th birthday party. She had the party at "Pump It Up" which has multiple inflatable bounce houses and slides in it. The kids both had a blast! Hudson tried hard to keep up with his sister but was not quite tall enough or quick enough to do so. He got very upset in one of the bounce houses because he could not climb up and over a portion of it! Somehow, I got involved too! Hudson needed help sliding at first so Reagan, Hudson and myself got to go down the big Bounce House Slide several times! Probably not very graceful, but it was fun! Happy Birthday Kennedy! I can't believe you are four and such a big girl!! Thanks for inviting us to your party!
Hotel Swimming
We had the pleasure of taking a quick trip this weekend to The Woodlands to enjoy a great Birthday party! Since we knew that it would be tough on the kids, we decided to go down a night in advance. Unfortunately, John had to work on Saturday so Nan was nice enough to go with us. The trip down was good, but I am not sure how many times Reagan asked, "When are we going to be at the hotel Mommy?" We got everything in and arranged and then were able to go to the pool on Friday night before having a restful sleep. The kids both loved the pool, but I am afraid that now every time we stay in a hotel we will need to pencil in some swimming time!

Fancy Reagan's Ooh La La Beauty Spa Day!
Reagan's current favorite book to read is "Fancy Nancy's Ooh La La Beauty Day." This is a great book that describes when Fancy Nancy is taking care of her Mom and treating her to a wonderful fancy spa day. They have Fantastique Face Masks, Marvelous Manicures, Posh Pedicures and Spa Cuisine(Fancy Nancy uses fancy French spa words).....all of which Reagan got to enjoy at home over the weekend. Of course, Hudson tried to enjoy it all as well! Reagan got to start with some fancy spa food, followed by a pedicure and manicure. She then wanted a face mask and had to have "cucumber eyes" just like in the book. Hudson tried this as well but ended up just eating the cucumbers! She ended by helping Mommy get her hair fixed and then had to dress up in her fanciest dress - her Cinderella dress! She loved every minute of it and can't wait to get the "foot bath" out again to have another spa day!

Circus, Circus!!!
We took the kids over the weekend to the Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus that was in Dallas. Reagan went last year as well, but I think that this year she was a bit more excited. Hudson got to go this year for the first time and made it all the way until the last 20 minutes before falling asleep! They both did great and we are so blessed to have such great kids. Reagan can't decide if the clowns, elephants, or tigers were her favorite! I think that Hudson just liked the music! And, of course, both the kids loved the cotton candy!
